Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards•S.

a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity

b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress

c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources

          Plickers is a tool you can use on an iPad where you can create quizzes to assess student learning. Plickers represents this ISTE standard because it is a way to give a formative assessment using a digital tool. Plickers also allows for students to become active participants by making the assessment interactive. Because this tool is interactive, it allows for students to manage their own learning while also assessing their own progress.

            Symbaloo is a resource that allows students and teachers to link all their favorite and important websites and resources to one spot. ​Symbaloo supports this ISTE standard because it incorporates digital tools and resources to promote student learning. It also creates a technology enriched learning environment that each student can personalize. This allows for students to manage their own learning.

           This is a website that I have made for another teacher for her Early European Explorers Unit. The purpose of the website is to serve as a guide to her unit. The website has different activities embedded into it for the students to complete. It is very easy to use and a great reference tool for students to have. This project website is an example of this ISTE standard because it creates a digital learning environment that is easy to use, engaging, and safe. The website allows for a relevant learning experience that incorporates digital tools and promotes student learning.
